46 years ago, when I started smoking, it was the "cool" thing to do.

I quit smoking on July 17th because I wanted to get foot surgery and they would not do it unless I was a non-smoker.  So here is the beginning of my non-smoking journey.  I went thru anger, crying, confusion, extreme sadness, and  forgetfullness. Of course because I hadn't researched how to quit, I had no idea what all these emotions were about or why I was having them,

On Augut 15th I had an appoinment with my doctor to clear me for surgery.  They did all the bloodwork, an EEG, and chest exray.  Everything looked okay.

Then the radiologist says there's something on my xray that needs to be checked futher and  my doctor tells me I need to get a CT scan of my chest.  Wow! Of Course I think OMG I have lung cancer. And I smoked a cigarette from the pack my husband left on the coffee table, then another and the next day another...  I was back to smoking...It took me a week before I quit smoking this time.

So I cancelled foot surgery until we could see what the chest problem is. Did the CT scan and waiting anxiously for the results.  A week later I find out that they did not see any signs of cancer.  Yey!!!  However, the doctor wanted to to see my regarding what the did find on the CT scan.  Is there no end to all this anxiety....Just tell me already.....I hate all this waiting.

So yesterday I saw the doctor and she tells me that I have mild centrilobular emphysematos changes....basically emphysema.  I guess after all the years of smoking it's no wonder I have something.
