Freedom train (Sunday 8/5/12)

Hello again everybody! I hope you are having a good weekend. Come sit and relax with your friends and fellow Exer's for a bit. Hugs from me to you!

There is no honoree in my conductor notes today. There were a few, originally but alas, not after reviewing their activity. Or rather, no activity! This brings me to something I've been wanting to blog about for a long time. Keeping up appearances.

When you join this site and set your quit date there are a couple of your fellow quitters who make note of that date in their Freedom train milestone records. It is disheartening to prepare for your special day and find either

  1. Nothing on your page about you

  2.
  3. You only wrote a first blog and no one has heard from you since, not even one of us. We normally send advance notice of your upcoming ride.

So where did you go? Our research leads to a great deal of assumption. We pray that you are still smoke free. If this sounds like you or you have a longer quit and just haven't been around for a while, please check in!

Update your profile page ('About me' section)  so others can know more about you, making helping you much easier because we can relate. That also helps with making friends. People look for people that have commonality. A location is good to see along with your smoking history (how long and how much). Your quit date and preferred method if you have decided. Knowing a bit about what you like is always great to see. I could go on and on (did you think I already have? LOL).

But please remember that this is a public site so you shouldn't place your address, phone number or any other personal info on your profile. Personally I don't even have my regular email there.

One more thing while I'm rolling along! Most, if not all of us have someone on Ex that we confide in. That's one of the things that makes this place great! But... if by chance you have relapsed please do something that alerts the records keepers. I can understand not wanting to make a public announcement (we look for those as part of our research). There are more subtle ways. Change your count up clock to read xx days UNTIL my final quit or something like that. Just a suggestion and I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings here. We are trying to avoid that in fact.

So without further adieu, let's celebrate each other and our quits. Constructive comments about what I've written and/or the Freedom train in general are most welcome!

If any of our guests would like to have anything in particular please let me (us) know and we'll do our best for you!

This train is bound for FREEDOM from the Evils of tobacco and smoking!
