day 7

I woke up SO CRANKY today! It was not fun! However I was able to apologize for the crabby talk that came flying out of my mouth, and talk about my feelings more clearly without throwing a fit or accusing anyone else of being a jerk later on, so that's good.

I was hungry all day today, too, so I ate extra, made myself a nice protein shake, and tried to focus on eating a variety of fruits and veggies. For dinner I made a nice big salad and a pot of pho-style soup with shirataki noodles for dinner. I'm a little frustrated that my sinus infection is going away so slowly- it started a few days before I quit, and so my sense of smell isn't coming back as quickly as I would like! I want to be able to smell all the good healthy food I'm preparing for myself! But it is clearing up, and I'm grateful for that.

Work was much less stressful today and I barely had any cravings while there! That was really cool! Before and after work is another story, but my cravings are definitely starting to diminish. That is a relief!

True story: I had a 7mg nicotine patch fall off my upper arm for the second day in a row today! I guess upper arms are not the right spot for me to place them. I saw today's patch fall off (unlike yesterday's, which is floating around somewhere between my gym and the lake!) and stuck it on my forearm, front and center so it's very noticeable. It's a constant, visible reminder that I am now a nonsmoker.

Today I also decided not to work out because I'm sore from increasing the amount of exercise I'm getting over the last week. I don't want to injure myself! So I'm a little antsy because of that.

Had a good long talk with a friend who quit smoking over two years ago and she reassured me that I would feel less crabby soon. I'm looking forward to it. Overall I feel really good and I think I'm doing a good job of not acting on my crankiness but I'm ready for the moodiness to be over! I'm also really looking forward to having the next two days off work, sleeping in, and getting stuff done around my house. I have racks to hang up in the kitchen and a small mountain of laundry to wash!

Hope everyone had a good Monday and is ready for a great week!
