Cherries for digestion after quitting

I have read several blogs where digestion issues have occurred after quitting smoking. The reason for that is nicotine is a stimulant, and when taking in nicotine the body recognizes it, and adjusts the digestive work load accordingly, so that nicotine becomes part of the digestive process.

When you quit smoking, the body will adjust back to normal without nicotine, but it takes time. Meanwhile, you might feel sluggish, have a bloated over stuffed feeling, and sometimes have terrible gas.

To combat this; drink more water, up your physical activities, eat healthy and definitely add fruit to your diet.

I found cherries to be the ideal fruit for me. A cup of fresh cherries in the late morning and a cup for an evening snack and I was back to normal. Plus they are very nutritious, a natural anti-inflamatory, they help clean the blood of free radicals, and they are very filling, which will make eating that bag of potato chips less tempting. : )

Cherries can be found year round usually, and when they aren't, dehydrated cherries are wonderful as well. I just bought a bunch of fresh ones today at grocer.

If you are having any digestive problems I hope this helps.
