Here's my thoughts (what worked for me) when it came to 2 drinks that people largely associate with cigarettes: coffee and alcohol.

I think coffee is better than ever now!!! I used to love coffee and cigs in the morning, thought I could never do my morning fix of caffeine without smoking. But I can!!! And it tastes delicious. When I quit smoking, I never quit the coffee, just kept chugging from my mug mug mug....it was hard at first, but I swear it tastes better now! There was no way I was gonna go through 2 withdrawels at once. I swear coffee tastes way better now (like food does)

I really like and enjoy craft beers....that one I stayed away from for a while, and worked my way back into it slowly. Everyone on this site knows that alcohol can be a quit killer, I would recomend, if you drink, not drinking for a while. I didn't drink for around 2 months after my last quit. I tried quitting several times before, and drank too soon and relapsed. Some folks on here say that when they gave up cigs they had to give up booze too....but not me. I like beer. A lot.  And when you do drink again, just start with 1 or 2 drinks the first few times you go out. Then up it  a little more after you feel comfortable. Then after that, work your way up to your comfortable level of alcohol consumption. I can go out for some much needed fun every now and then and drink beer til the cows come home and I don't even think about smoking!!! NEVER thought I would get there. Slow and steady won that race. That's my advice on that one.....

Well, that's all I got for right now. Just thought I would share what worked for me. As we all know, everyone is different, so hopefully you will find what works for you. This is a process.....Good luck to everyone

Peace.

Doney.
