You know what's awesome?!

I have a cold! Silly, that's not the awesome part. This is my first non-smoking cold in 16 years!! Wow. I haven't had to take my fast-acting. The nebulizer is still packed away. I have a bit of a cough, but it's just that: a bit. Every time I've had a cold for as long as I can remember, it's been terrible. I've had to carry my machine and make sure I had refills. I've OD'd on albuterol so many times, my heart is used to tachycardia. They almost always resulted in a visit to the doctor's office, where I was scolded for continuing to smoke. Yep, I was that person who would take the inhaler so I could have a cigarette. That's so pathetic.

BUT...that's not me anymore. Is there anyway to be more excited than I am right now over a cold?!  LOL! Will my kids remember that I smoked? Elderberry is pretty perceptive, but she's still only five. My sister tells me my mom smoked for a brief stint when I was in first grade, but I don't remember it. Or is it etched my my Berries brains since we've done it their entire lives?

Well, even if they do remember, they'll also realized we stopped. Thank you Lord for providing me the strength to get through every minute of each one of these last 27 days. With Your help, I get to skip a trip to the hospital and simply use over the counter medicines like everyone else! Praise God!
