Breathing a little too good?

It's been 57 days since I've smoked a cigarette.  I smoked between 1 1/2- 2 packs a day for the most part of 22 years. Even after smoking for so long, I never had breathing problems or a smoker's cough. I was expecting to deveIope a cough after quitting, but I haven't coughed once. I know you may be thinking I'm lucky, but I'm kind of wondering if it isn't the opposite. Isn't coughing a good thing? Isn't that how the lungs clear themselves out and get rid of all the bad stuff? Should I be concerned that I haven't been coughing? Does this mean that my lungs aren't clearing themselves out? Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'd like to know what you guys think. Did it take any of you this long before your lungs started to clear out?
