I'm sitting at exactly one week since I stopped intentionally sucking smoke into my lungs. Hubby hasn't quit yet. I believe he's putting off finishing the Allen Carr book until the cigs are gone. I think there's about a pack and a half left from the carton we bought 10 days ago. It's been a bit torturous protecting my quit with those so available to me. I almost feel like he's testing me and it makes me a little bit angry. He's always used me as an excuse to start smoking again. Last time we quit for a year and he tempted me with a pack lol. The thing is I really hate the smell and I really don't want to smoke but my body keeps having these dumb urges.
I really want to go off the nicotine gum because I know the physical cravings won't go away until the nicotine is completely out of my system. I am chewing 3-4 pieces of gum a day. How do I know when to stop the gum? I don't feel like I can while cigs are available because chewing the gum is better than smoking.
Anyone have advice for kicking the nicotine addiction completely?
