In your dreams

I had a dream that i was smoking again. I was sitting outside on a bench with a bunch of smokers and i was smoking a cigarette. a guy a cross from the bench ask me to bum a cigarette and i look up to see his hands and face are covered in ashes and tar.His mouth was brownish gray from the tar and ashes. In my mind I was like eeeeeewwwwwwww! I gave him a cigarette and i lit one up myself. As I was doing that a wave of guilt washed over me thinking i had relapsed and was back smoking again. Of course when i woke up i was glad it was all a dream and i was still smoke free. Alot of people think dreams mean something. Im hoping that gross ash covered guy is my subconcious view of smoking or he is my addiction slowly dying from lack of smoking. im on day 43 now and still smoke free. My triggers are fading off into the past one by one. im still hit by cravings out of the blue but overall my quit is going quite well. Although I have noticed at work Ive substituted gum for smoking. I have to become less reliant on gum to get me through the work day. Although if I ate right and didnt skip meals I think my cravings at work wouldnt be as strong. Its great to see this group so active and involved. Some times its hard to keep up with all the blogs because so many people are writing. I try my best to read them all and respond with advice or support. Although you can only write Congratulations, You can do this, chew gum, drink water, hang in there, etc so many times before it all starts sounding trite. Its not that I believe what im saying is false but when you go through so many blogs and responses it starts to wear on you. Thats why I try to vary my responses when I write . I would rather see the group active and bustling with activitity than have it be a ghost town like some other sites.
