One of my most revolting experiences ever as a smoker was needing a nicotine fix so badly that I went into those designated smoking lounges in airports. My god, how degrading to stand with the other junkies in cloud of smoke while normal people walked by glancing in disgust.

Welcome to a photo blog on the pleasure of being a nicotine addict smoker in the 21st century. Welcome to life in designated smoking areas, indoors and outdoors. Social outcasts. Viewed as lepers. Yes, folks. This is the sexy side of smoking in today's world. Sure looks great, huh?

This is one of the most beautiful streets in the world. You leave the sidewalk and cross little bridges across a stream (in background) to reach traditional Japanese restaurants and gardens, lit by paper lanterns. It now has designated areas for the nicotine junkies:

Harajuku, the hipster university area of Tokyo. Rock n' roll in the park and a new generation of outcast nicotine junkies.

The crews cleaning these smoking areas are no fools:

Yeah, it sure would be awful giving up "my friends", right?
