harder then I thought

I have only smoked off and on for like 3 years.....I've quit a bunch of times, but always started because of stress, and anxiety. I have these mini anxiety attacks and smoking helps calm me down.
I almost had one today at work I felt it coming on....because I couldn't help be continue to think about my ex. so I had to go have one. making my count 3 total for today.
I work out...to try and calm the cravings....but....it doesn't always help....if anyone could give me some advice...that would be great!
