Snow!

Yep - everyone goes crazy here when they predict 1-2 inches of snow.  Grocery stores are very crowded and I could not locate even one can of regular Rotel.  What is up with that?  But I did manage to get makings for a pot of homemade chili - served with fritos and grated cheese.  In years past, I would have headed to the only register that sold cigarettes and stayed in line for however long was necessary to get enough smokes to get me through.  But not tonight - I sailed right on thru the self-checkout in record time.

It is a very stressful time of year for me - year end work at my job.  On top of that an unemployment audit that was not expected.  We are short handed - one employee off due to a death in her family.  And a co-worker had the audacity to pull out a cigarette and announce that she is an occasional smoker and was going to exercise her right as an occasional smoker and go smoke it.  I  looked at that cigarette for what seemed like an eternity and proclaimed that being an occasional smoker never worked for me!  NOPE!!!!!

I am a 63 year old single woman. I quit smoking at 55 and my only regret is that I did not quit sooner. Freedom from cigarettes is truly a wonderful feeling!
