I responded to another blog today. A gal had a tough day due to her young child. I could relate. I remember those days..they were hard at times. ((I miss those days now that they are long gone and my babies are grown up! ))

I am glad I read her blog. It reminded of a lot of things. A hundred other stresses that I have had that made me smoke.

Stress happens. Always will. I don't live in a fairy tale and never will. There are plenty more bad days coming. My parents are both having seriouse health issues. My son is a mess. My job stresses me out. I have debt. Ect ect

Stress always gave me an excuse to smoke. But the smoking never made the problem go away. I can't think of one way that a cig helped. Taking a moment to get away and think might of helped. But I could of did that without a cig. That is how I will do it from now on. Just take a moment or two or however long, but without a cigarette hanging out of my mouth. No matter what it is. Not even a puf.

NOPE!!

Good girl patty, exactly  it never solves anything, it just makes you smell funny...I am proud of you hang in there and stay strong..    Shirley

Your words made me wonder, "How do people who don't smoke handle stress?"

You're so right - stepping away even without the cigarette helps so much.  Sounds like you've had your epiphany and you're on your way!
