Okay, Okay I am finally back with great news!!!!! Today is my quit date!!!! YAY.....

I originally had set my first quit date to be Feb 16 of last month.  A couple of weeks prior to my quit date I had begun intentionally fighting moments that I knew would be my weakest ones. I was doing good for a brief moment. Once I lasted about  a day and 1/2 without smoking, but found myself getting nervous when I got down to the last of a pack. Well....... Quit date came around and I couldn't slow down. I continued to smoke.

I thank this site for emailing me out a free coupon for Niccorette gum. To be honest I was never going to spend my own money on something that I was sure if I was dedicated to. Took foooooorrrr ever for me just to get it in the coupon in the mail and then another century to go and pick them up. Once I brought the box home with me I contemplated on when my quit date would be. Couldn't come up with one but I know it would be within the week coming up.

Last night I was up late online and I had just smoked a black and mild  and wanted to smoke another one even though I had just finished smoking up the last one I had, That’s when I decided "THAT IT!!!" I'm tired of smoking “again” because now matter how much I smoke I was always going to want another one. I want to feel like smoking is not apart of my routine any more. I know what is feels like to never buy another pack of freaking Black and Mild , Milds AGAIN!!!!

Today marks the first day of never buying another pack again not matter how long I'll have to chew on this gum, Wish me LUCK!!!!!!

I will have apermanet quit though, I'm coning up on a year and hope you don't underestimate yourself, You can do it. vegetable and fruit paltters.sunflower seeds. things that engage your mind, lots of idea out there, I've heard alot of them.

You can quit smoking, even if you cut down on nicotine slow. Stop polluting your lungs

@Aztec Youve got a good point there!

I remember eating for lunch a large portion of  a huge bag of barbque sunflower seed...SMH (Shaking my HEad). I had in them pantry corner of  desk at work. The craving almost disappared while I was eating them. I kinda forced myself to smoke on the drive home just because I could, but now I know I don't wanna force myself to smoke.

@ va72lady (Shirley) I hope I can get my brother to understand that. He is very much like me, and know I can't force him to quit. I just wanna show him he can do it. He goes thru a can of chew a day and that stuff goes twice as fast as the ciggars i was smoking. If I'm right, the best way for getting someone intrested is remind them of all the positive things in front of them.

That a girl.  Go get em.  You will find that you will feel better not only physically but mentally.  If you need a partner I would gladly help you.  I'm at 11 days and have had my ups and downs but am doing OK.  But the best partner is the Lord.  He has been my guide so far.  I say a prayer every morning for him to guide me through anything to do with quitting smoking.  It also might help to put a list around the house that has what the benefits will be.  Like:

Will feel better

Cigarettes won't control me

Money will be saved

I won't smell like cigarette smoke.

I will be able to smell things better.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers
