My experience with the Bassmaster Fishermen, Kevin Wirth and Zell Rowland was an experience of a life time.  These two men are some of the most competitive people I have ever met.  They work extremely hard at what they do professionally and have been extraordinarily successful over the years.  Both have tried to stop smoking before and we’re hopeful that by focusing on the BecomeAnEX plan and other things we can do for them that they will be able to stop smoking for good this time.  Both give a lot of credit to the help they have received from BecomeAnEX .  Certainly, smoking gets in the way of their ability to fish simply because of the time that it takes but also if they don’t smoke they have withdrawal symptoms which are obviously a major distraction for them.  I had the pleasure of meeting their spouses who were both delightful women.  I got to ride in Kevin’s office which is a very large pick-up truck with all of his equipment.  I got to ride in Zell’s boat on the Colorado River outside of Austin, Texas.

Kevin competed in the Bassmasters Classic last week, his first tournament since stopping smoking and he came in 8th which is really great.  He’s on his way to California for the next tournament.  Zell has also stopped smoking and will be competing in the California tournament, his first since he stopped.  Kevin and Zell have been supporting each other and are getting great support from their professional fishing buddies and families.  Both say that other people have noticed they’ve stopped smoking which has motivated them to try to stop smoking too.  Click here to watch video of Kevin and Zell as they re-learn their lives without cigarettes.  We will be watching anxiously to see how Kevin and Zell do and hopefully they will catch some serious fish, and we are optimistic they will be able to maintain their new abstinence from smoking over the long term and live a longer and healthier life.
