Thank you for all of the Kudo's.
CONGRATULATIONS and a WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!! to James and "SNAKE HEAD" as well.
An eX reminded me yesterday that it was gonna be 300 today. 300 is good. I'm really looking forward to that one year celebration.
And Day ONE day was the most important. Keep up the good quit!
but first ....... I signed in to post a blog, and see some of the other blogs of the morn....including AZTEC. Sometimes it's as though we are reading each other's minds, I love when these "unofficial themes" show up!
Anyways, for many years I was one of those "head in the sand" smokers. When those annoying anti-smoking commercials came on, I'd quickly change the station, and sometimes step outside for a cigarette "break" with an attitude of defiance. Of course, I was hoping that my kids didnt notice the commercial or the channel flipping, I certainly didn't want to hear their "see, Mom?" comments. It was as though IF I DIDNT KNOW, then those nasty effects wouldn't happen to me. Cancer, Emphysema..... those were for "other people" and then we started seeing commercials for COPD medications, I mean, REALLY.......who made THAT ONE UP??? A conspiracy of the pharmaceutical companys for sure! Of course I knew that smoking was "bad" for me; and of course I knew that second hand smoke was "bad" for my kids, but hey, "we didnt smoke in the house!"
(In recovery programs we call this kind of irrational thought process "denial" - ha!)
Now, I'm eager for the facts and research and I'm saddened for the unwillingness to know TRUTH. both mine and others. Sometimes I want to ask..............do you REALLY know how you're killing yourself?
In approximately 7 minutes, Kellie's quit meter will read 400 days.
Kellie is one who has encouraged and inspired despite her smoking related health issues.
Please offer your congrats to her at: http:/
And while you're there kick off your shoes and visit for a bit. Check out her page, listen to her music and take a few moments to read some of her blogs, you will be blessed!
Thank you Kellie! And Congratulations!!!!!!

Sophie arrived somewhere around 1am. Katherine and Chris' first child, an actual Father's Day gift.
Her Mom and Dad have never smoked, their gift to her. Her Grandpa was the first in our family to quit. What a beautiful legacy!
wooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
Happy Father's Day to ALL of the "dad's" out there!
