Cravings

I often awake between two and three a m. Previously I would smoke a cigarette and go back to sleep. Now I am looking for another distraction that will relax me and keep me on point.

@mz2wonderful70 Smoking disrupts sleep, so I wonder if that's why you were waking up to begin with?   Reasons for not sleeping are  complicated.   I always wake up and I quit 6 years ago,

When the weather was nice I would go out on the deck some nights to have a smoke.  To be honest, I don't remember doing anything for the cravings at night when I woke up.  Have you tried doing some deep breathing exercises and there are mediation videos on YouTube that might distract you.

Could you try staying in bed, take a few deep breaths and go back to sleep?  It will probably take time, give it time.  You are doing great.

Hello @mz2wonderful70! If the problem persist, definitely reach out and ask your physician. Your body is getting use to not having the nicotine, so hang in there!

@barb thank you I will try some deep breathing.  This morning I got up and cleaned 😂

Whatever works as long as it's not a cigarette
